Working on my site…Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009Well… finally decided to start working on cleaning up my site and the templates and everything. Be patient.. Score card management for my pre golf appMonday, August 24th, 2009I’ve finally got almost all the basic score card functionality finished. You can now manage all the cards in the database. Delete them… Load an old one to edit and view… create/start a new card. Along with that I also added a drop down panel when you tap the Score Card header to allow you to edit score card / round settings. Such as the date of the round and a title / description so the various cards are more descriptive when listed. The score card manager screen lists each score card by date, displaying the name or date of the match as the title. It always will display the match date time as well as icons for each of the players that are in the card. Hopefully this will make it easy to navigate a lot of score cards. Eventually i’ll also make a drop down selector to only show cards for certain courses and so forth. That will have to come after I get course data editing/displaying working. First Real Pre/webOS Golf App TestFriday, August 21st, 2009Well.. I played 18 holes today with a bunch of friends and was able to give my app a thorough usability test. I’ve added a couple modifications to the score entry screen now because of it.
I may actually add a couple things now as well.. Like a leader board type score screen to show all the players score information more simply and not displaying each holes score on that screen. Below are a couple screen shots of the new score entry screen. You can also tap the header and change the players name or relink the player to another contact. Working user management on my golf appMonday, August 17th, 2009Spent some more time this evening working on the golf app. I was able to fix my user management per scorecard. You now add a generic player 1, 2, 3 and so on… and then can link the players to users in your contacts. This allows you to track scores with and not have to everyone as a contact. You can also still rearrange the users and also delete them (with confirmation) as well. I will eventually add a rename option to rename non-contact users, as well as maybe add the option to start the process to add them as a contact. Also added to the menu is a debug menu item to erase the contents of the database to start from scratch for testing. This may be available in the final product in a settings screen. Here is some more eye candy as well. Finally… Widgets within lists.Sunday, August 9th, 2009I had some sort of mental block that was keeping me from getting this working. But it is. Now I can add golf players from the contacts list properly, add them to the list and have the integerPicker widget for each hole. The score card will list an entire round that can be scrolled horizontally very easily and allow one to manage scores for any number of players. If the list is longer than the screen it also scrolls vertically properly. I still have to add some user management, to allow one to remove players as well. Hopefully will have it maintaining scores before the end of the day and also able to save the data between application opening/closings. More work on the webOS golf appWednesday, August 5th, 2009HTML5 webOS Support Page…Tuesday, July 28th, 2009Looking around the webos developers site I was very glad to see this list of supported and unsupported features. Will help speed up debugging of some of my golf drawing code. http://developer.palm.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1682 Palm Pre, WebOS, HTML5, Canvas Golf App UpdateWednesday, June 3rd, 2009I’ve got some more work done on my golf application for webOS and the pre. Here is a mockup of what the current state looks like on the pre. I’ve also uploaded a small screen capture video clip of it simulating gps movement after the break.
